Palm Jumeirah is indeed a man made archipelago developed by Nakheel Properties which is a company owned by Dubai Government, United Arab Emirates. It was designed by the prominent HHCP Architects.

It is one of the so called 'Palm Trilogy Islands' in the UAE, such as the Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Deira, and Palm Jumeirah which is the smallest one among them. It is located on the Jumeirah Coastal Area of the Emirate. In addition, it was designed in the shape of the Palm Tree, consisting of a trunk, a crown with 16 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that forms a long breakwater. Its total area is larger than 800 football pitches. Then the above mentioned crown is connected to the mainland by a 300 metre bridge as well as the crescent is connected to the top of the palm by a sub-sea tunnel.

Lastly, the project is featuring the following: themed hotels, three types of villas (Signature Villas, Garden Homes and Canal Cove Town Homes), apartment buildings, beaches, marinas, restaurants, and a variety of retail outlets.
